Intake manifold gasket

Due to the heat and high pressure in the engine, cracks can occur in the intake manifold gasket. This can eventually cause a leak in this part. A leaking intake manifold gasket can allow unfiltered air into the engine. Normally, air enters through the intake manifold, passing through the air filter. This filter removes dirt from the air before it enters the engine. Air that enters the engine through another route is also called 'false air'.
