Diagnosing faulty headlight(s)

A headlight can fail, this can be caused by an accident or condensation in the unit. A defective headlight is easy to recognise. However, if you are driving the car, it is not always noticeable. It is therefore important to regularly check that the headlights are still working. There are a number of symptoms that may indicate that the headlight is faulty;

1. Headlight does not illuminate when switched on;
2. Light is dim or flickering;
3. The direction of the light is incorrect;
4. Moisture in the headlight

How do I replace a headlight?

4. Remove the bulb from the bracket and disconnect the cables;
5. Connecting works in reverse order.

Polishing headlights

It is also possible that the headlight has become dull. Often, dull headlights do not pass the MOT because they do not give enough light. If your headlight has become dull, you do not have to replace it immediately. You can choose to polish the headlights with a special headlight polishing kit.
