Transmission Stands: Buy Quality Parts at Winparts

Transmission stand worn

The transmission stand is made of rubber parts, which are subject to wear. Due to all the vibrations and shocks that the stand absorbs, the part can sometimes break. For example, the rubbers can dry out and tear. A worn stand can be recognized by a thumping sound when accelerating or braking. In addition, you may notice vibrations in the gear lever and in the interior while you are driving.

In the case of a worn transmission stand, it is very important that it is recognized and replaced in time. If you allow the part to wear even further, there is a good chance that the stand will break off. With a broken stand you run the risk of serious damage to other car parts because vibrations will occur throughout the car.

Replace transmission stand

We would advise you to replace the transmission stand every 90,000 to 110,000 kilometers. You can replace the transmission stand yourself with the right materials and knowledge. In short, the steps for replacing the stand are as follows:

3. Loosen the nuts holding the bracket.

4. Remove the old transmission stand and position the new bracket.
