A mass air flow sensor (MAF sensor) or air mass sensor of an injection engine can be found at the end of the air filter housing. This sensor measures the amount of air that is drawn into the combustion housing. It then determines how much petrol needs to be injected into the cylinder. Over time, the MAF sensor may start to fail due to, for example, contamination. When the mass air flow sensor is contaminated, it is important to clean or replace it.
