Coolant temperature sensor broken

When the coolant temperature sensor is broken, it can seriously affect the performance of the engine. For example, it can happen that the sensor constantly sends out the signal that the engine is hot or cold. This results in the engine being supplied with too little fuel at all times and therefore cannot perform well. The engine can also overheat.

A broken coolant sensor can also be recognized by the Check Engine light which will illuminate in the dashboard in the event of a malfunction. When the Check Engine light becomes visible, it is always important to read the car's computer to see where the fault is. Problems can also arise when starting the car if there are problems with the coolant sensor. The engine is not being supplied with the correct fuel supply.

Replace coolant temperature sensor

Replacing the coolant sensor is not a difficult job in itself. However, you should take plenty of time to properly prepare the coolant system for this. Note that the radiator must be drained before replacing the sensor. After replacing the coolant sensor, new coolant will also have to be added. Would you rather have the job done at the garage? Then make sure you buy the temperature sensor from Winparts and deliver it to the garage yourself. This way you save a lot of costs on expensive parts at the garage.

Buy coolant temperature sensor

You can easily find the right coolant sensor for your vehicle with your car model. You can easily enter these on the website, the suitable car parts will then be displayed. Are you looking for other sensors? In our wide range you will also find crankshaft sensors, camshaft sensors, speed sensors and rain sensors.

Coolant temperature sensor

The coolant sensor is also called the coolant temperature sensor. This sensor measures the temperature of the engine's coolant. On the basis of this data, the computer system can calculate when and how much fuel must be transported to the engine. The engine needs more fuel when it is cold started than when the engine is fully warmed up. A properly functioning coolant sensor is therefore of great importance for optimal engine performance. Enter the car model on the website and you can easily navigate to the right parts.
