Knock sensor function

The knock sensor is simply a microphone that measures the sound and vibrations of your engine. A combustion engine normally runs very regularly and predictably. Knocksensor

The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block and measures the knocking or pinging of the engine. Engine knock or pinging occurs when the fuel in the cylinders ignites too early. This can be caused by a leak in the intake, resulting in too much oxygen, fuel with an incorrect octane rating, or excessive pressure in the combustion chamber.
