Parking distance control broken

When the parking distance control of the car is broken, you can notice this by the malfunction light in the dashboard. In addition, the PDC sensor may provide incorrect readings to the computer system. The beep may now become constant or misjudge objects causing you to be incorrectly alerted. It is also common that you will hear a long beep when starting the car, after which the system will indicate that the parking distance control is being switched off. If you notice a defect in the parking aid, you can have the car read out. This makes it easy to see exactly where the fault is. Does the parking aid beep constantly? First check whether there is dirt on the sensor. There may be times when the sensor detects dirt as an object, causing the sensor to beep constantly.

Replace PDC sensor

Replacing a PDC sensor is a simple job that you can do yourself. To do this, you only need to detach part of the rear bumper. Detaching part of the bumper is in most cases sufficient to access the sensor. The sensor is often clamped quite firmly and behind 2 tabs that stop it. Bend the tabs and try to pull the sensor out so that it disengages from the connectors. Then the new sensor can be placed and you can reattach the bumper. Always make sure to test the sensor when it is replaced.

Parking sensors

The car' PDC sensor is a built-in parking aid for the driver. PDC stands for Parking Distance Control. This sensor monitors the objects around the car. While parking, you can watch what is happening behind the car on the display. When the car approaches an object, the system will beep. The closer the car gets to an object, the faster the beeping frequency will be. Parking is made much easier with the built-in PDC sensor. At Winparts you will easily find the right parking aid sensor with your car model. Fill this in on the website in the correct parts will be shown.
